Mounties Post 306 Finishing 1 Stroke Back at the E.J. Invite

The Northwest Boys’ Golf Team competed in the East Jackson Invitational on Wednesday at Calderone Golf Club finishing 2^nd with an excellent 306 just 1 stroke behind the tournament champions, Lumen Christi.

The Mounties were led by the one, two punch of juniors, Jake Brafford and Cody Rowe.  Jake was the tournament individual champion with a 2 under par 70 while Cody was the runner up medalist firing a 73.  Junior Jarrett Osterberg posted an 80 and sophomore, Sullivan Mohlman carded an 83 to finish the team score.  Junior, Mason Beecher, also played and finished with a solid round of 87.

“We were playing with Lumen, and we battled with them all day taking turns leading the tournament right up to the last hole. Both teams played some high-level golf and it came down the wire,” said Coach Cantlin. “The guys played very well today coming off our big day on Monday, and that showed me a great deal about their mind set.”

The Mounties play Friday at The Medalist Golf Club in the Matthew Krustch Memorial Invitational at 9am hosted by Hillsdale Academy.
