Gage Marken, one of the top 110 meter hurdle competitors in Jackson County, enjoyed a superb indoor season in the 60 meter hurdles.  Indoor track and field is not sponsored by the MHSAA, but there are plenty of meets on indoor facilities in the state.  Marken ran on January 18th and qualified for the New Balance National Championship Track and Field in Boston with a time of 8.24.  He lowered this qualifying time on February 28 with a time of 8.13, which is his personal record.  On Saturday in Boston, Marken finished  68th out of 176 qualifiers in the 60 meter hurdles.  Though not running one of his best races, Marken enjoyed the experience and hopes to be back next year.  Congratulations Gage on your indoor season and now it is on to the outdoor season.
