JV Softball got off to a good start with two big wins over Hanover Horton, (22-6 and 17-7).
Kaleigh Rice pitched both games, striking out 8, and giving up only one extra base hit. Rice helped herself out with a home run in game one and a double in game two. Casey Jahr scored 5 runs, had two hits, including a double, and picked a runner off at 1st base. Mya Warner had two hits and made a spectacular defensive catch that ended the inning and stopped Hanover with 3 runners on base. Lily Affarano scored 4 runs, had 2 hits and threw out a base runner trying to steal. The Mounties play at Western on Thursday.
