The Northwest 8th Grade A team won their first game of the season thumping Western 40-19 on Monday night. The Mounties were in control of the game from the tip. Out hustling and out racing Western players to loose balls, getting timely steals and solid rebounding.  The scoring for the Mounties was extremely balanced all throughout the game. Aliyah Olivier dominated the scoring in the first quarter scoring all 10 of her points. Hailey Corravo and Jazarra Jordan took over the remainder of the game with Hailey scoring her team high 16 points and Jazarra finishing with 9.  Maleigha Jenkins and Maryah Noonan each contributed 2 points offensively but were scrappy on the defensive end along with Gracelind Bosilovick and Saleen Pulley who put the clamps on the Western Panthers.  The Mounties play again Wednesday at Pennfield.

The Northwest 8th Grade B team won in convincing fashion 21-5 on Monday night against Western. They played extremely well defensively, limiting Western to 5 points the entire game with many take-aways and good rebounding. The  Mounties were led in scoring by LaRiya Dempsey with 12 points, Elanor Harmon scored 4, Maci Johnson and Harper Loos each scored two and Neveah Nodine scored one
