Sunday, January 18th: Mason College Prep Tournament

Our Varsity squads laced ‘em up today in what turned out to be a long grind of a day.

The Girls put themselves in a hole early by posting our lowest team game of the season in game one. A nice bounce back in games two and three allowed us to scratch all the way back up to the third position heading into 12 Baker games. After the first block of 4 Bakers we jumped up to second. Unfortunately, the deficit we found ourselves in after game one was too much to overcome and we ultimately finished in the runner up position. The day wasn’t perfect, but in the end, the Girls were able to fight through some early adversity and bring home some hardware. Julia Jacobs was our high scorer today, finishing only 39 pins short of making the All Tournament Team.

The Boys faced some adversity as well. We were only able to suit up 5 today which didn’t give us the ability to substitute bowlers in and out of the lineup. They battled hard all day but just weren’t able to post enough high scores to finish in the top two. We did have some positives, including a 248 game by Jake Brafford, which helped him land on the All Tournament Team, a 918 team game and a 240 Baker game. After it was all said and done, we finished in third place.

We definitely saw some things that we need to work on back at practice, but overall, it was a positive day.
