Another bit of luck came our way on Wednesday, as the Lumen Christi girls team had an open date on their schedule and we were able to get in a non conference match. With our smaller conference size, we never get close to our maximum number of matches in a season, so being able to get in extra live action is huge for us.

Coming off our best match of the season, we were hoping to keep the momentum going. In a sense, we did…and we didn’t. We ended up with a 21-9 win, pushing our record to 4-0 on the season, but it was far from perfect. We struggled with our shot making and spare conversions all day and the match was a lot closer than what the final score indicated. We split the Baker games, losing the first by 6 pins and winning the second by 26. The Team games were just as close with both coming down to the 10th frame. We were able to take game one by 13 pins, but lost 4 individual points to only have an 11-8 advantage going into the final game. Once again, it was neck and neck until the 10th, where we pulled it out by 39 pins. Once again we were led by Casey Jahr on games of 191 and 178 for a 369 series, but the real hero of the day was Sumayya Wenman. She entered the match half way through the first team game and proceeded to mark in 10 of her 15 frames, which included a 174 in the deciding game.

The Boys and JV squads got in some friendly scrimmage time along side a few bowlers from Lumen Christi and Gabriel Richard.

We now have a few days off before a quick practice on Tuesday leading into the holidays. Hopefully everyone has a safe and wonderful holiday season, and we will see you in a couple of weeks when we return to action against Coldwater on Jan 6th. Go Mounties!!
