The 7th grade boys A basketball team won a nail biter 40-38 against Lumen Christi on Monday night. It was a tremendous game with each team going back and forth with scoring runs. The Mounties played hard nosed defense all night and created key turnovers in key moments of the game that allowed them to pull away for victory. The game came down to the final moments with 48 seconds remaining Northwest forced a bad shot by Lumen got the rebound and after a timeout got the ball to Blake Dalton who hit a clutch three that tied the game at 38.  After a timeout by Lumen, the Mounties' pressure defense created a turnover in which Jace Corrigan hit a 12 foot jumper to take the lead for good with 7 seconds remaining.  All 11 players played key roles in the win, their defense set the tone that propelled them to victory. Leading scorers on the night were Tripp Rambadt with 10, Isaac Dreams and Jace Corrigan with 8, Wyatt Perrine, Artie Gerrish and Blake Dalton each scoring 3  and Colton Surbrook with 2 points.  The Mounties will finish their season Wednesday at home against Harper Creek.
