The 8th grade A Mountie boys traveled to Hastings Monday night to battle a very tall Saxon team. With swarming defense and relentless effort on the boards, the Mounties came away with a 42-33 victory.
Down 16-20 at the half, Northwest amped up the defensive pressure to start the third quarter with a 10-0 run! Jake Brautigam led the charge for the Mounties scoring 8 consecutive points with great defensive pressure converting into easy layups. Jake finished the game with 16 points to lead the Mounties. Darious Caldwell controlled the offense for the Mounties and finished with 12 points. Logan Lowder battled for 6 points, William Hutt 5 points, Declan McKnight had 2 points and Chase Remynse finished with 1 point.
Northwest is off until after Thanksgiving when travel to Pennfield to take on the Panthers. The win brings the Mounties to 2-5 on the season.
