🏀 Northwest B Team Secures Victory Over Western

The Northwest 7th Grade Boys Basketball B team defended their home court last night with a hard-fought 31–23 win over Western, improving their season record to 2–1.

The opening quarter set the tone for a gritty contest, as both teams locked in defensively. Northwest held a slim 4–2 advantage after the first eight minutes, with neither side finding much rhythm offensively.

Momentum began to shift in the second quarter as both squads found ways to score. By halftime, Northwest clung to a narrow 13–11 lead, setting the stage for a decisive second half.

Halftime adjustments paid off for the Mounties. Their improved defensive pressure in the third quarter stifled Western’s attack and opened opportunities on the offensive end of the floor. Northwest stretched the lead to 23–17 heading into the final frame.

The Mounties never looked back in the fourth quarter, with contributions across the roster sealing the win. Landon Hargon and Hunter McClintic led the scoring charge with 7 points apiece. Adam Casanova added 6, Carter Bynum chipped in 5, while Ryder Peterson and Charlie Patterson each scored 2 to round out the balanced effort.

With the victory, Northwest moves to 2–1 on the season. The Mounties B team will hit the road next week, traveling to Marshall for a Thursday matchup on November 20 at 4 p.m.
